Do you think you always make the best decision when it comes to picking a woman? A lot of guys (maybe even you) will say no with some hindsight involved.
For instance, maybe after picking a woman you realized she wasn’t the best option around. In fact, maybe you could clearly see that she was a horrible option! Why couldn’t you see that before?
Or, maybe you picked one woman over another woman, and with some reflection, you could easily see that you would have been happier with the other woman. Probably too late to get the other woman now.
This is common. Many people end up picking partners that don’t fit them well at all.
So, why do we make such dumb decisions when it comes to our love life so often? The following video may explain it.
You May Not Be In Control Of Your Own Decisions
The following TED talk by Dan Ariely shows how we make decisions, and how we may not be making the most rational decisions.
Did you watch the video?
If you did, then you learned that with the right knowledge about how we make decisions, people can trick you into making a decision that is more beneficial to them than it is to you.
For instance, when you are faced with a choice, such as one woman or another, your choice can be affected by what you deem to be the best choice, even if it is not. A woman who understands this can set herself up to look like the best choice when compared to other options.
This is absolutely clear in the example Dan uses of the subscription to the Economist.
When people were given an option to get the web subscription for a low price, or the print and web subscription for the same price as just the print subscription, the majority chose the combination subscription; however, when the print-only subscription option was eliminated, the majority of people chose the best option that was there all alone – the online subscription.
Another point in the video is that things are not always what they appear to be. Your eyes can deceive you. This is why looking past the cover of a woman is always a good idea. Yes, she may look great in that red dress, she may have a great career, she may even seem to be the perfect woman, but underneath she may be something completely opposite of perfect.
How To Make Better Love Decisions?
Take some time to really discover whether or not the woman you are dating is an illusion or the real deal. Remember, sometimes you may see one thing, but that is simply because your mind is being tricked into seeing that illusion.
Also, try not to simply let your choice be affected by what seems to be the best option, because it may only appear that way with other variables involved. Take a step back, ask yourself if you are being influenced by someone or something else, and then make your decision as rational as possible.
Remember these points the next time you make your choice about who to date, who to commit to, or even who to marry! While they are not foolproof, you have a better chance of picking a woman who you really want rather than one you have been fooled into picking.
