Want to be a better man? Then change the way you think, act, and behave. That’s really the bottom line. The following quotes can help you do that.
1. An Even Temper Can Get You Far In Life
A man who is able to keep a cool head in any situation is much more valuable than a man who is quick to fly off the handle. Anger not only causes you to see situations irrationally, but it causes you to do harm to yourself and the people around you. And, you can’t think, act, or communicate appropriately, which means you can’t resolve issues – whether they be business or relationship issues.
2. Walk The Walk
I see so many people defining what a good man should be, but I think we all know instinctively what that means. A good man is compassionate, honest, helpful, and respectful. He accepts his responsibilities in life and doesn’t put them on other people’s shoulders. He sees beyond his own ego and he contributes to society positively. Don’t talk about how you should be a better man, just be it.
3. Stop Labeling Women As Unreasonable!
It’s true, women and men are different, but one is not better than the other. How many guys do you know that joke about how irrational women are? It’s funny to them (and maybe even to you). But the truth is that men are just as irrational a lot of the time. And, to put it even simpler, we all have our moments. Let’s stop trying to label one another as something less than ourselves. It doesn’t make us better people. In fact, it adds to our undesirable traits.
4. Have Patience With A Woman’s Self-Image
Don’t understand why women think they are fat when they are not? Check out this article about why women think they are fat. I know it can be draining to hear a woman say she is imperfect repeatedly, but the truth is she has been made to feel imperfect since she was very young. Have compassion for that and you will be a better man in any woman’s eyes. In addition, you will remove a lot of stress and strain off yourself.
5. Make Your Life Count
When you leave this world, you will leave behind the things you did, the knowledge you spread, and the contribution you made to this world. Make sure your activity in this world stays long after you are gone – it will satisfy you in the moment and make your live more meaningful.
6. Blame Is Useless
The above quote can be taken a few different ways. Because I always hear men blaming women for their problems, I choose to interpret it this way: You are responsible for what happens to you, not the door or the woman who plays you. You always have a choice to be aware, teach people how to treat you, and make decisions that are in your best interest. Once you stop blaming others, you can start taking action to fix things and become a better man.
7. Stop Worrying About What Others Think
Life is going to be hard sometimes and not everyone in it is going to like you. I watched an episode of Seinfeld yesterday where George can’t get over the fact that Jerry’s girlfriend (Stifler’s mom) doesn’t like him. He worries about it so much that he actually ruins his relationship. You can watch the clip below, but just remember, worrying about what others think is a waste of time – because they usually don’t think about you anywase.

8. Hindsight Is The Worst
Take time to be grateful for what you have. Don’t take it for granted. Trust me, if you have a great woman on your hands, and you take her for granted, you will eventually lose her. And it will suck. Have some foresight around your relationships and treat women (and all people) the way they deserve to be treated. Be the better man that you will have wished you had been.
9. When You Assume, You Make An Ass Of Yourself
I was checking out Aristotle, and I found that he thought women had smaller brains and that the organ that produced thought was the heart. Those things he couldn’t have known anywase, but he also thought women had less teeth? Some people think that he just hated women and was trying to paint them in an ugly light – but seriously…he couldn’t look in there and count? My point is that it makes him look ridiculous, and when you assume, it can make you look ridiculous too. Look for proof, because your assumptions could be distorting your world in a very negative way.
10. You Always Have A Choice About How To React
Lastly, you always have a choice about how you are going to feel today. If you react poorly to some jerk, then you are going to feel bad. If you react with love, kindness, or even just indifference, you are going to feel much better and you will be a better man because of it. You will be happier and stay focused on your life and what you want instead of wasting your time being upset or hurt about someone else. Don’t blame other people for how you feel because, ultimately, you get the choice.
